Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know before, during, and after your appointment at Hydra Bliss IV.
Frequently asked questions
What are vitamin infusions?
Vitamin infusions, also known as IV drip therapy, deliver essential vitamins, minerals, and amino acids directly into the bloodstream. This bypasses the digestive system, allowing for more efficient absorption compared to oral supplements.
Are vitamin infusions safe?
When administered by a licensed healthcare professional, vitamin infusions are generally considered to be safe. We will review your medical history during your initial consultation to determine whether vitamin infusions are appropriate for you. It is important to acknowledge that all medical procedures carry risk and may result in adverse reactions.
What are the risks and complications associated with IV therapy?
While IV therapy is generally safe, there are potential risks and complications that may occur. These may include:
Bruising or bleeding at the cannula site
Fluid overload
Allergic reaction
Infection
Electrolyte imbalances
Vein inflammation or damage
Risks and side effects will be discussed at your appointment. Please advise our team of any medical conditions or allergies. If you experience any pain or discomfort during treatment, please advise the nurse immediately.
Do vitamin infusions replace traditional medical care?
No. Vitamin infusions are not a substitute for traditional medical care. They are intended to be a complementary service to support your overall health and well-being. Please consult your GP or treating doctor for any medical concerns.
Why don't you advertise your pricing?
We are unable to advertise the cost or ingredients of our IV infusions online due to strict TGA advertising regulations. Before obtaining any treatment, each individual must have a consultation with our registered nurse. Pricing is available in-clinic or via your client account.
What should I do on the day of my appointment?
Please ensure you are well hydrated and consume a small meal before your infusion. Being hydrated makes it easier to insert the cannula, and eating food will help reduce any nausea related to altered blood glucose levels.
What should I expect during my appointment?
A consultation will be conducted to discuss your health history
You will complete a waiver form and our doctor will supply a prescription
Our registered nurse will conduct a vital observation check
A qualified healthcare professional will insert an IV cannula and administer the infusion
You can relax comfortably during the infusion
After the infusion, we will provide aftercare instructions
Most infusions take around 45–60 minutes
What aftercare do I need to follow?
After your treatment you will receive an aftercare kit. General aftercare includes:
Keep hydrated — this will help your body absorb the vitamins more efficiently
Eat nourishing foods
Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours
Avoid alcohol for 24 hours
Monitor bruising at the cannulation site — apply an icepack if needed. If the site becomes red, painful or you are concerned, please see your GP
If you believe you are experiencing a life-threatening emergency, please present to your local hospital or call 000
How often should I receive vitamin infusions?
The frequency of infusions depends on your individual needs. We will discuss this with you during your consultation and work with you accordingly.
Can I receive a vitamin infusion if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?
We recommend consulting with your doctor before receiving a vitamin infusion if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
